Video Session

Hi all!

I believed you all enjoyed the videos coach showed.

Here are the links to some of the videos I've found on Youtube and also some facts about the Swedish Floorball Team (a.k.a the Manchester United in Floorball as quoted from coach), Pixbo IBK.

Pixbo Wallenstam Innebandyklubb, also known as Redfox or Pixbo IBK, is one of the most successful floorball clubs in the world. It is based in MölnlyckeVästra Götaland and is widely recognized as the best floorball club in Sweden, more specifically, in the Swedish Super League. (Wikipedia)

Of course, you can search for more videos on Youtube regarding about Floorball.

Yes, trick shots can be fun, but without mastering your basic, none of these can be done.

Brush up on your basic when you are free with your friends, but PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you are practicing at home!

2014

2014
A very exciting year for everyone of us.
Winter Olympics in February, an annual solar eclipse in April, World Cup in June...

But most importantly, we are going to have our first Senior Team participating in the Senior Competition! (HURRAY!)

It wasn't easy start for us. We got trashed in 2012's Junior Competition, everyone was down but our boys knew this was just the beginning for them to experience what Floorball is like on a National Level.

In 2013...
Under the guidance of our coach
They fought hard
Parents screaming and supporting at their top of their lungs

The Boys improved and got into the second round.

They were proud of their achievement, but never too proud to get carried away.

Although our journey ends in Second Round, most importantly they enjoyed this whole new experience.

Now, they are practicing hard for their last competition of their Primary School journey. To be frank, the teachers here will miss them A LOTTTTTTTTT :(

Seniors, we hope you will play all games with all your might and most importantly, enjoy every moment. This will be the last time you will be playing with your current teammates! Win or lose, it doesn't matter. What matter most is the experience and friendship gained is priceless.

Of course, with our 2013 Junior Team moving up to Senior Team, we have a brand new 2014 Junior Team!  All of them are excited to be in Junior Team as they have saw how their seniors fought in the games.

They too practice hard with the seniors and trying to learn as much as they can from their seniors.

Go Team ENDEAVOUR!

VS Northview VS Unity

(Due to technical difficulties, I'm having trouble uploading the video. Will get it done asap)

It wasn't an easy match against Northview.

Pressure was on our Captain, defender and goalkeeper. We were behind since the first period at 2-3. No goals during second period. Everyone thought we might lose this one.

However, every grey cloud, has a silver lining.

Our "sleeping dragon", Aryaan finally awaken, and scored the important winning goal.

Our supporters (Parents, teachers, and also our lovely munchkins) cheered and celebrated. It was truly a very memorable moment for us. Well done boys!

As for Unity, our boys had 1 goal in mind.

Score as much as they can.

Fatigue kicks in, luck wasn't on our side at first. All the shots were either on target but missed or off target. The desperation of wanting to score so badly were on our boys' faces.

3-1 for first period.

3-2
3-3

Towards the second half of the second period, our shots finally found the right place to go.

4-3
5-3
6-3

And during third period, although our boys were a bit lost and not following the coach's instructions at first, they managed to get themselves composed and we finished the game at 10-4.

Great job guys! Myself, Mdm Salina and Mr Ramadhan are very proud of you all. Keep this up and remember...

Enjoy the game and put in your very best in every game.

You wouldn't want to have any regrets after any game right?

Study smart and work hard for your exam now.

So that you wouldn't have any regrets after receiving your results and can enjoy Round 2 of our Floorball matches fully.

All the best for your examinations!

Hope I can see this face when you receive your results!

No training session on 22 April

The hall will be used for NAPFA on 22 April, thus there will not be any training on that day.

Use this time wisely and revise for your SA1 :)

Have a great weekend ahead!

VS Yu Neng

Tough game for us.

Against the team 3rd in last year's National Junior Championships...

We
Managed
To
Secure
A
Draw

6-6

Our floorball team has gone a long way, trailing from behind since 1st period, our boys showed incredible resilience and composure

In particular, our keeper, Ilham, showed awesome keeping skills in all the 3 periods. Saving numerous shots from all angles and most importantly, a penalty shot. (Thanks COACH for the last minute tips on saving a penalty shot! :) )

Myself and all those who have went to support our boys were amazed by his skills.

And of course our last line of defense, Si Qiang played superbly too.

"I just used what I learnt in soccer"
Si Qiang was defending right from the start of the game, till the end. Using his legs and "concrete wall" like defense , he too prevented the opponent from scoring. And best of all, he scored a goal far beyond the halfway court.

Ilham and Si Qiang, you are my Men of the Match :D

Jet, Max, Jue Cheng, Tarmidzi, Raiyan, Aryaan, Shien Ter

Without your determination and never say die attitude, Endeavour Floorball would never have gone this far.

You guys rocks!

You may want to turn down the volume at the Third Period :P

Alright, here are the links to the match, do take a look at it and learn from the opponent. They tire us out very quick by making us playing to their pace.

So, what can we do to counter it?

  1. Stay COOL
  2. Keep the possession
  3. Look before you shoot/pass
  4. Think before making any decision

Yes, it is not easy. You may panic when the opponent start charging towards you. Remember, stay cool. Look out for your team mates in court. Support him when you think you have to.

Have a good rest and be mentally prepared for the match tomorrow against North View!

SFA website

Singapore Floorball Association

The above link is where you can check out all the results of any floorball competition in Singapore. The current link above is our Junior Boys' Results.

The matches we are left with are:

  • Yu Neng
  • Northview
  • Unity

As you can see from the results, Yu Neng and Northview are very competitive.

Not a easy road for us, but I'm very sure with teamwork and great support from friends, teachers, coach, team mates and family (thank you parents again for your support! :) ), we will get through this together!

GOOooooOOOOOOooooooo ENDEAVOUR!

VS Qihua

A narrow win for our boys.

Yesterday, we had a match at Pasir Ris Primary against Qihua Primary. From the parents and teacher who went to the competition, they said that it was a fierce battle and the heart was thumping like a horse's hooves on a dirt road, it was continuous.

8-7

Comments from the coach for this match was our boys lack tactical discipline.

So what does he mean from that?

For any sport team to win a match, one must be disciplined in all aspects. This means that, for our case, the players must be motivated enough to

1. have his/her own timetable that he/she must follow (time to study, rest, revision, doing of homework, family time, practice)

2. listen to coach/teacher-in-charge's (Mr Ramadhan, Ms Eng and Mdm Salina) instructions.

If anyone of us, especially during a match, tells you what to do (where to stand/how to play/who to mark etc), you have to follow.

Always remember, we always have your best interests at heart.

If you decide not to follow, the coach/teacher has the rights to remove you from the current team as your behavior may jeopardise the team.

Our next match is against a strong team, Yu Neng. Yu Neng's Senior Boys are the runner-up for this year's Senior Boys Competition and they have very good track records from the previous competitions.

Remember what the coach has been telling you, brush up your skills (only after you have completed your revision and homework!) and think back how can you improve from the previous match.

Have a good rest this weekend, and remember to do your homework.

VS Tampines Primary

(At the request of our captain, this post shall be in pink!)

We won our second game!11-3!

Our boys were a bit messy during this game, everyone dashing for the ball, giving our opponent space and time to take a shot at the goal. We could have scored more. Don't be so risky next time boys!

Great job by our keepers, lots of good saves from both of them. Keep it up!
